Church Council

The First Congregational Church Council consists of the minister(s), moderator, vice-moderator, clerk, and the chairs of the boards listed below.

The council considers policy and administrative affairs of the church when the congregation is not meeting as a whole. It provides direction to the senior minister and staff on behalf of the congregation. All church boards report to the congregation through the church council.

The council is responsible for a goals and objectives plan for the church, including the church policy and procedures manual. It advises the minister on the general direction of church activities and the formation of a well-rounded program.

The council also presents a slate of members on the pastoral search committee to the church for approval. It provides for recognition of members and groups and is responsible for monthly family Sunday potlucks.
