Oxys Trip to Anchorage Animal Control Shelter

On March 21, 2010, the Oxys made dog and cat toys from fleece strips and tennis balls and delivered them to the Anchorage Animal Control Center. They were treated to a special tour of the facility, including the outdoor play area, a quiet room where prospective adoptees can get to know their new owners, and the pens where they fed treats to the dogs. They also attended a training session with Kathy Broome and one of the shelter dogs waiting to be adopted. Here are some highlights of the outing.Oxys at the outside dog play areaOxys watching a video about adopting dogsMax feeding a dogOxys in the dog pensOxys in Jenny's room - a quiet area for dogs to get to know their new ownersOxys watching Kathy Broom teaching a dog to sitOxys rewarding a dog for sitting
